Through a strong partnership with the Urbana Park District, the club offers discounted seasonal fencing camps in the fall, spring, and summer—led by experienced board members and athletes from the University of Illinois Fencing Illini team. Grant Overview

Fencing Forward Community Grants: Investing in Potential

Established in 2023, the Fencing Forward Community Grant Program supports fencing clubs and sports organizations that utilize fencing as a developmental tool for youth in underserved areas. We seek to recognize organizations that go beyond the sport—those dedicated to building better futures and stronger communities.

The Award – Based on nominations, Fencing Forward will select up to three organizations to receive grants of up to $1,500 each. We are looking for partners who demonstrate a high level of commitment through their leadership and youth-focused programming.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be eligible for selection, all nominated organizations must:

  • Tax Status: Hold a valid and active 501(c)(3) or equivalent federal tax-exempt status.
  • Good Standing: Be in good standing regarding all financial, reporting, and IRS requirements as of the application deadline.
  • Frequency: Organizations are eligible to be nominated for one (1) grant per fiscal year.

How to Nominate

Nominations are accepted exclusively through our online portal. You will be asked to provide:

  • Organization contact information.
  • A brief statement on why this organization deserves recognition and how they impact their community.

Important Dates

  • Nominations Open: July 8, 2026 (Following USA Fencing Summer Nationals)
  • Nominations Close: Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM (CST)
